The Moving Force Journal

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Our mission is to find and publish the new classics, the truly exceptional, the ones that are worthy of our predecessors, the ones that will stand the test of time, the ones that we’re proud to know will represent the literature of our era.

Our only selection criterion is excellence—nothing else. As Ayn Rand stated in The Fountainhead, “the moving force” of creativity and invention is an individual’s ability to take what one has inherited from the past, learn from it, then ultimately craft something original. As part of an ever-evolving literary landscape, we have inherited the great thoughts and works of individuals before us. Now, it is our time to create the literature that will be passed down to future generations.

Please visit our website to read our first four issues.

Please send only previously unpublished work, meaning work that has not appeared in print or anywhere on the web (including, but not limited to blogs, personal websites, social media sites, public discussion forums, etc). Simultaneous submissions are considered; however, please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

The Moving Force Journal will acquire First Serial Rights for accepted work as well as electronic rights to archive the work indefinitely on our website. Although we are primarily an online journal, we also acquire reprint rights should demand and funds allow us to publish a print issue and/or anthology. All other rights revert to the author. There is no compensation at this time.
